The Indian conference launched in Germany at COP 23

1.The Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the India pavilion at the Conference of Parties(COP) at Bonn, Germany.


2.“Conserving Now, Preserving Future” was the theme for India’s COP-23.


The Main arch of the world’s highest bridge on Chenab launched by Indian railways

1.The world’s highest bridge has been built on River Chenab in Jammu & Kashmir and will provide connectivity into the Kashmir valley.Its main arch was launched.

2. The iconic bride is 30 metres higher than the Eiffel Tower and is 359 meters above the Chenab river.


India to make a contribution of 100 USD to UN partnership fund

1.India has made a declaration to contribute 100 USD Million to UN partnership fund to support sustainable development projects in developing countries.

2.A total amount of USD 398.98 million was promised by about 20 countries during the conference.

Nirbhay, a long-range cruise missile test-fired

1. The  indigenously designed and developed long-range sub-sonic cruise missile ‘Nirbhay’ was test-fired at Chandipur along the Odisha coast.

2.The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out the fifth experimental test.

 

Sampriti- The Indo-Bangladesh joint military combat exercise begins

1.The 7th edition of the joint training exercise Sampriti-7 between INdia and Bangladesh took place in Meghalaya and Mizoram.

2.The 13-day joint exercise will be carried out in Joint Training Node at Umroi in Meghalaya and  India’s Jungle Warfare School at Vairengte in Mizoram.

India at the Top of the Commonwealth Shooting Championship with 20 medals

1. India finished the Commonwealth Shooting championship with the best tally of 20 medals.


2. A total of six gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals won by the Indian shooters.

Panasonic Open title won by Shiv Kapur

1.Shiv Kapur won his first Asian Tour title in India at the Delhi Golf Club, winning the Panasonic Open by three strokes.

2.He fired five birdies against one bogey to stay three strokes clear off a pack of fellow Indians. 

 
UNESCO Asia Pacific Award of Merit 2017 won by Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple
 
1.Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple of Tamil Nadu has won the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award of Merit 2017.
2.The two most peculiar features that made the temple eligible to win the award are its traditional method of renovating temple premises.This is the first temple from Tamil Nadu to be honored by a UN body.

1.After 1.5 years of the Panama Papers leak,the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has leaked another secret financial document called the ‘paradise papers’.

2.A trove of 13.4 million documents has been obtained by a set of records obtained primarily from Bermuda-based firm Appleby and Singapore-based Asiaciti Trust.
