Manushree Chillar crowned Miss world 2017

1.Manushree Chillar crowned Miss World 2017 in Sanya City Arena in China leaving behind Miss England Stephanie Hill and Miss Mexico, Andrea Meza, the first and second runners-up respectively.


2.India has won the coveted title after a gap of 17 years.Chillar is a 20-year old medical student from Haryana.


World Toilet day on 19th November

1.The  United Nations General Assembly declared 19th November as world toilet day to help break the stigma around toilets and raise awareness regarding cleanliness & hygiene.

2. This year’s theme for World Toilet day continues the theme for World water day and is focussed on with the focus on wastewater.


Qaumi Ekta week across the country 

1.To mark the spirit of National integration and communal harmony, Qaumi Ekta week is being celebrated from 19th November all across India and this day is being celebrated as National Integration Day. 

2.Several meetings and functions will be organized on the last day of the Qaumi Ekta Week and will be celebrated as Conservation Day.



On the 100th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi, the nation pays honor to the former PM

1. The nation is grateful for Indira Gandhi’s contributions as a former PM to the country so on the occasion of her 100th birth anniversary, honor and homage was paid to her.

2.She was the only woman Prime minister from 1966 to 1977. Then until 1984 from 1980.

 

Manmohan Singh conferred with the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize

1.The former Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh for his leadership of the country from 2004 to 2014 is being granted the Indira Gandhi Prize for Development, Peace, and Disarmament.


2.The Indira Gandhi Memorial trust gives away this award with a cash prize of Rs.25 Lacs.

India’s tennis champion Yuki Bhambri wins the ATP Challenger

1. Indian tennis champion Yuki Bhambri won the ATP Challenger Tour 2017.


2. Yuki Bhambri defeated Ramanathan by 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Balewadi Sports Complex.
