Supreme Court upholds death sentence of culprits of 2012 Gang Rape

Supreme Court has upheld death sentences against four men who fatally gang raped a woman on board a bus in 2012. This incident sparked widespread protests. It was a barbaric crime and it has shaken the society’s conscience.

UNHRC Questioned India on degrading records on human rights

India was under the spotlight for the third time during the universal periodic review (UPR) at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Around 110 nations spoke for about one minute each during the session, but several had also submitted written questions earlier. India faced questions about its human rights records from over 100 countries, ranging from attacks on Africans to restrictions on foreign funding of NGOs.
